This unit features digital control and display of hot air temperature. PACKING LIST AND PART NAMES Please check to make sure thatall itemslisted below are included in the package. This unit features digital control and display of hot airtemperature. This sensor detects the temperature of the hotair. Vacuum pipeThe pad is mounted on the tip of the vacuum pipe. Vacuum pipe control knobThis knob controls the length of thevacuum pipe. The movement of the vacuum pipe can be checkedhere. This product isprotected against electrostatic discharge. Specifications anddesign are subject to change without notice. Airflow capacity is rated as free flowing. Restrictionscreated by various nozzles may reduce the maximum airflowcapacity. CAUTIONThis product includes such features as electricallyconductive plastic parts and grounding of the handpiece and stationas measures to protect the device to be soldered from the effectsof static electricity. The handle and other plastic parts are notinsulators, they are conductors. Be sure to ground the unit duringuse. Do not allow the nozzle to come close to, or touch,flammable materials. Inform others in the area that the unit is hotand should not be touched. The unit is for a counter orworkbench use only. Children shall not play with the appliance. Turn the power off when not in use, or left unattended. Do notstrike the handpiece against hard surfaces or otherwise subject itto physical shock. Always connectpower to a grounded receptacle. Use onlygenuine HAKKO replacement parts. B tobecome wet, or use it when hands are wet. Be sure the work area is wellventilated. To avoid damage to the unit, do not turn the power switch OFFuntil the pump stops automatically by cooling down after use andappears on the display. Warnings, cautions and notes are placed at critical points inthis manual to direct the operators attention to significant items. Failure to comply with a CAUTION may result in injuryto the operator, or damage to the items involved. Failure to comply with a WARNING may result in seriousinjury or death. A NOTE indicates a procedure or point that is importantto the process being described. B includes five operationbuttons. Pressing this button whenthe forced cool down bypass is enabled will turn the airflow offand stop the cooling process. Pressing this button when usingPreset Mode will cause the preset selection screen to appear. Hold this button for at least twoseconds to enter the Offset Mode. Used for finalizing entered values and checking settings. When setting the airflow, you may pressor to finalize your airflow setting value. Station assembly Attach the handpiece holder. Turn andloosen the knob that locks the handpiece holder. Turn the knob to lock the handpiece holder inplace. The handpiece holder can be attached to either side of thestation by removing the handpiece holder attachment plate andattaching it to the opposite side of the handpiece holder. CAUTIONThe nozzle and pad will be heated at high temperature. Using vacuum function operative nozzle1. Extend the vacuum pipe using the vacuum pipe control knob. Passthe vacuum pipe through the nozzle hole and attach the nozzle. When not using a nozzle, retract thevacuum pipe to the shortest length. Tighten the nozzle mounting screw. The pad does not last indefinitely. When it becomesdeteriorated, replace it. Since exposure to high temperaturescauses it to deteriorate faster, Hakko recommends it be cooledafter use. Adjust the pad to anappropriate position. Adjust the vacuum pipe so that the pipe and pad protrude aslittle as possible. NOTELetter G is marked on the nozzle with the pipe guard. B when thevacuum pipe is extended. When G is not marked on the nozzle, these nozzles do not havespace to blow hot air. Vacuum function inoperative nozzles. How to Use a old nozzleAlign the projection part, attach the oldnozzle to the heater pipe. There are two projection with different heights. Align thenozzle screwing position with the higher projection part of thepipe. When attached in the wrong direction,the nozzle could not befully inserted and can cause air leakage. Make sure to attach thenozzle in the correct direction. CAUTIONWhen not in use, place the handpiece on the holder. Insert the power cord into the receptacle on the rear panelof the station. Plug the other end of the power cord into a grounded wallsocket. CAUTIONThis product is protectedagainst electrostatic discharge. The rim of the handpiece must rest on the area circled in theillustration. StopPress the S or button again. Power to the heater is shutoff and cooling begins. The display will show indicating that the station is ready to startagain. Hot air blows out of the tip ofthe nozzle. Hot air temperature is controlled according to thetemperature setting. Setting of the air flowPressing the AIR button in the stationcauses the LED for AIR display to blink and allows you to changeair flow. The air flow setting range is 1 to 9. WARNINGDo not stop the hot air by turning the filexlib.
